alright on to saturday, i got to london, found the airbnb place i booked, found out that the "room" wasn't even a proper room. the "room" was divided by partitions it almost felt like a warehouse make-do room. if it was cheaper i really wouldn't mind but i paid about the same amount for the room in brixton and that was a better room despite having to go up 4 flight of stairs; it was at least a good workout. well, after checking in i went to grab food from borough market because i still had hours before the play started. i had buffalo burger from the exotic meats stall because it was "today's special", then i had fried calamari rings which cost £7. it was super tasty but super expensive.
i really love markets and its liveliness.
it looked just a like an ordinary burger but i loved it very much. why not kangaroo burger?? because ive had it before, that's why. after having lunch, i went to locate the theater. i found the theater and fortunately there was a costa just beside it so i could kill time by having hot chocolate and reading.
not for show. i managed to read like 14 pages. it was a heavy book, ok??
it was a pretty cool place. love the seating arrangement and love how close the stage was. opposite the theater was a bookshop where i bought some (more) books on philosophy.
after visiting the bookshop, i went to caffe nero to get tea and continued reading. it was a book i just got from the bookshop. then the time came for me to catch a play- "a midsummer night's dream". ...it was bizarre. just weird. i guess it's supposed to be weird LOL google it up. after the play i kinda just went back to the bnb, showered and slept.
on sunday, i got to the march venue. i was early so nothing much was on yet but people were showing up. i was really hungry; i wanted soup and bread (especially mushroom soup and garlic bread omg) so bad but nowhere sold it. i ended up getting a chipotle chicken and avocado wrap and green tea. the pre-march events were pretty cool, there were singers and talks and discussions on women's rights and refugee's rights and stuff. annie lennox and the mayor of london was also there to lead the march. pretty cool.
#March4Women
this is the mayor of london. he gave a speech and i remember he quoted, "how can all succeed if half of us held back?", so that kinda struck me. i'll keep that in mind. i made an acquaintance, he brought his trans and lgbt flag with him and shared the sign and the rainbow flag with me, pretty nice.
ignore my stupid face,
that was the sign! i know it looks bright and sunny but toward the end of the march it poured like shit. we were all drenched but he stood on the bench with his trans flag waving proud in the wind and rain. i joined him in waving the rainbow flag on the bench and many people requested photos of him. why not me? i dunno, they probably had me in the photo anyway since i was beside him LOL pretty proud. i'm sure i looked like shit in all the random photos. didn't see many asians though.
before the march started.
we got the tower bridge closed just for the march! so i'm happy to have taken part in this cause. after the march we parted ways. i went to chinatown to get myself a nice tasty plate of roasted duck rice because my dad suggested that i should and i agreed with him.
this is honestly the best roasted duck rice i've ever eaten in my life! i asked for a drumstick. i was very tempted to eat all the fatty skin but i didn't. i gave them a good respectful munch before leaving them on the plate along with the bones. sorry fats. the rice was also very tasty, i wonder why?
i got to the train station about 4 hours before my train. my train was at 9pm so i wandered around. as usual, i visited the platform 9 3/4 shop. yes the one in harry potter. i wanted to get the hogwarts wall plaque but they sold out! i didn't wanna ask again so i bought the gryffindor wall plaque online. it might arrive this week!! excited! read throughout most of the train journey and i arrived in newcastle around 1220am, took uber back, showered and went to bed.
aaaaaand today, monday. i went to the lecture at 3pm. went to muay thai at 6pm. successfully discussed a good time for me to do the muay thai personal training!! i'm starting this week so i hope i won't die before then. don't forget i've got uni work to do as well.
after training, i walked to the nearest tesco along the way and got 2 pieces of salmon for £0.39 each! that's a fucking bargain if you asked me! the original price was £2.49 or something like that. they're expiring today but fuck it i'm gonna make them for dinner tomorrow along with the cheap expired mangetout i bought as well. they'll just have to wait.
also, i got some of my singing voice back! that makes me happy. it sucks not being able to sing for a week. but i'll slowly get it back! whoa long post. shit, 9am lecture tomorrow. also, i'm now rank 1 on gundam breaker 3's bounty hunting.
